General elections: held in November during even-numbered years on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.

Primary elections: held on the third Tuesday in May during even-numbered years to select candidates for the general election to be held the following November.

Special Elections may also be held on the second Tuesday in March and/or the third Tuesday in September. Whether an election is held depends on whether the local jurisdiction is putting measures or candidates before the people to vote on.

Special Elections

Special elections are held when a federal office becomes vacant or when the Oregon Legislature schedules an election to vote on a ballot measure.
