Hi Folks,
The members of the LWVRV Board met today to discuss the ongoing concern facing us all, the coronavirus
Over the past couple of weeks, we have been seeking guidance from different Oregon disease control centers and reviewing the spread of the virus.
If we don’t follow guidelines given us by the CDC and local medical authorities, we can become victims and accelerate the local spread of the virus. The Board had a special meeting today as they were most concerned about the welfare of you, our members and the guests who are coming to the luncheon.
Our co-presidents, Jackie Clary and Margi Peterson asked for input from each member and then a vote. The majority vote was for postponement.
Next week at our regularly scheduled Board Meeting, we will discuss the month to reschedule the celebration – perhaps August or September – and go back to The Inn at the Commons. The young woman I am working with at the Inn, Danielle, and the staff in Banquets, have been wonderful, helpful and understanding. We will not be penalized for the postponement and we will work on a date that will be best for the Inn and the League.
In the meantime, if you wish to ask for reimbursement please contact me, or we can keep your payment and apply it to the new date.
My sincere thanks to those of you who made reservations, to new members who joined this year and to all who wanted to share in the Centennial Celebration Luncheon. It’ll still be 2020 at the end of the summer and in the fall. We’re “gonna” do it then.
Lorraine
