Next Statewide Election in Oregon is November 5, 2024
Important Dates:
- April 30 – Last day to register to vote or change party affiliation
Registration cards postmarked by 4/30/24 or submitted online no later than 11:59 pm on 4/30/24 are valid. How to register online, in person, or by mail. - May 7 – State voters’ pamphlets, county voters’ pamphlets, and ballots will be mailed by 5/7/24. - Nov. 5 – Election Day
- Ballots may be delivered in person at County Clerk’s office, open 7 am – 8 pm on 9/5/24
- Official dropsites open until 8 pm, for minimum of 8 hours
- Last day for voter to return ballot. Ballots that are mailed must be postmarked by election day.
- Ballots deposited in an official drop box must be received by 8 pm on 9/5/24. An online drop box locator will be available by 9/5/24.

General information about voting in Oregon
Deadline for voter registration
- Voter registration deadline is 21 days before the election.
- Ballots are mailed between the 18th and 14th day before the election.
Change of Address
If you need to change your mailing address and are registered in Oregon, you can update your information online at My Vote.
If you can’t change the address before the ballots are mailed, you can still vote! Drop your ballot off before 8 p.m. at your county election office:
- Jackson County Elections office: 1101 W. Main St., No. 201, in Medford. 541-774-6148
- Josephine County Elections office: 500 NW Sixth Street, Grants Pass.

Mail-in ballots
- Ballots must be mailed with a valid post mark by Election Day.
Drop-off ballots
- Drop boxes are available 24-hours a day until the day before election day, and until 8 pm on election day.
Election Day in Oregon
There are four regularly scheduled elections every year.
General elections: held in November during even-numbered years on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.
Primary elections: held on the third Tuesday in May during even-numbered years to select candidates for the general election to be held the following November.
Special Elections may also be held on the second Tuesday in March and/or the third Tuesday in September. Whether an election is held depends on whether the local jurisdiction is putting measures or candidates before the people to vote on.
Special Elections
Special elections are held when a federal office becomes vacant or when the Oregon Legislature schedules an election to vote on a ballot measure.

The League of Women Voters publishes both online and printed Voters’ Guides. These nonpartisan publications provide voters with information about the candidates and ballot measures on the ballot.

The League has a tradition of presenting comprehensive, unbiased ballot measure information to help citizens make informed choices. Vote411.org is a league sponsored website offering online voter registration and providing information about what is on your upcoming ballot. No personal data is kept when you enter your information.
